How does noise travel through your windows?

The key to reducing sound entering through a window is creating a dead air space between the existing glazing and the new interior glazing. This is the same process that airplanes use in their windows and why they are constructed this way. Similarly, Magnetite windows are made of 6mm acrylic which does not vibrate at the same frequency that glass does.
